The comparisons do ring true: Soulful singer Anthony "RenaGade" Briscoe has no qualms about dropping the occasional King of Pop vocal tic into the mix, while his three bandmates' stripped-down arrangements are much more primal than those of slicker soul-pop acts like Fitz & The Tantrums. Briscoe is also one of the few, if any, contemporary soul singers to boast a background in ballet training, although his onstage showmanship thankfully owes more to James and Jacko than it does Baryshnikov and Nureyev.
